There are two primary bodies that do most of the software testing certifications. Those two are:
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board
- International Software Certification Board
Within those two certification boards there are various flavors of the different types of software testing certifications that testers can obtain. For the International Software Testing Qualifications Board the following software testing certifications are available:
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification
- ISTQB Advanced Level Certification – Test Analyst
- ISTQB Advanced Level Certification – Test Manager
- ISTQB Advanced Level Certification – Technical Test Analyst
- ISTQB Expert Level Certification – Test Management
For the International Software Certification Board the following software testing certifications are available:
- Certified Associate in Software Testing
- Certified Software Tester
- Certified Manager of Software Testing
